I did it! After years of tinkering with computers and helping to build dozens of websites, web apps and mobile apps, I finally created my personal website. In this blog post I will explain why and how this website was built.
For a long time, I’ve wanted to improve my writing skills, and the best way to do that is through practice. However, writing in a text file that nobody will ever see never provided me with enough motivation to do so. And when I did write, I didn’t put in as much effort as I would have liked because, well, nobody was ever going to see it.
In other words, this blog is a public notebook where I will practice writing my thoughts, ideas, and opinions.
The website is built using Hugo, a static site generator. I created a custom theme for it using Tailwind. The theme is inspired by Thorsten’s website.
At one point, I began to worry that my site looked too similar to his, but then I realized that there aren’t many ways to design a website with black text on a white background and side navigation.
